FAQ's
What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative style of yoga that uses long held postures to work with the deeper layers of the body, including fascia, connective tissue, joints, and energetic pathways known as meridians. Unlike faster paced yoga styles, Yin emphasizes stillness, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and intentional awareness.
This Yin Yoga Teacher Training explores Yin through both a functional anatomy lens and a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective.
What will I learn in this Yin Yoga Teacher Training?
You will explore:
• Functional anatomy and skeletal variation
• Yin Yoga archetypes and pose breakdowns
• Fascia and connective tissue
• Nervous system regulation
• Traditional Chinese Medicine and meridian theory
• Yin Yoga sequencing and class development
• Meditation and mindfulness practices
• Energetic and seasonal Yin sequencing
• Teaching methodology and holding space
This training is designed to help students confidently teach Yin Yoga classes with both anatomical understanding and energetic intention.
How is this Yin Yoga Teacher Training different from others?
This training blends functional anatomy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, nervous system awareness, meditation, sequencing, and practical teaching application into one cohesive experience.
Rather than memorizing scripts or aesthetic alignment, students learn how to understand individual bodies, teach intentionally, and create meaningful Yin experiences.
Students also receive lifetime access to an online Yin learning library filled with recorded teachings, pose breakdowns, sequencing examples, meridian teachings, meditations, and additional study resources.
Does Yin Yoga help regulate the nervous system?
Yes. Yin Yoga can help support nervous system regulation by encouraging slower breathing, mindfulness, stillness, and parasympathetic activation.
Throughout this training, students will explore how pacing, breath, long held postures, meditation, and intentional sequencing can support stress reduction, emotional awareness, and nervous system balance.
Who is this Yin Yoga Teacher Training for?
This training is ideal for:
• Yoga teachers wanting to add Yin Yoga to their offerings
• Yoga teachers seeking continuing education
• Wellness practitioners and bodyworkers
• Massage therapists and Reiki practitioners
• Meditation teachers
• Dedicated yoga students interested in deepening their practice
• Anyone interested in mindfulness, fascia, mobility, or nervous system support
No prior Yin Yoga teaching experience is required.
Do I need a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Certification to join?
No. A 200 Hour certification is not required.
While many students join to deepen their teaching skills and expand their yoga offerings, this training is also open to dedicated practitioners who want to explore Yin Yoga more deeply for personal growth and self study.
What is the difference between Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga?
Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga are both slower paced practices, but they serve different purposes.
Yin Yoga uses gentle stress and longer holds to work with connective tissue, fascia, mobility, and energetic pathways.
Restorative Yoga focuses more on complete support, recovery, and relaxation using props to help the body fully rest.
This training specifically focuses on Yin Yoga methodology, sequencing, anatomy, and energetics.
Will this training cover Traditional Chinese Medicine?
Yes. Students will be introduced to foundational Traditional Chinese Medicine concepts including:
• Meridian pathways
• Organ systems
• Energetic qualities
• Seasonal energetics
• Meridian based sequencing
• Acupressure within Yin Yoga
The training approaches these teachings in an accessible and practical way for modern Yin Yoga teachers and practitioners.

Absolutely. Sequencing is a major focus of the training.
