About the event

The Pelvic Floor: Foundation of Core Health

Class Description:

This class will delve into the anatomy, function, and importance of the pelvic floor muscles.  We'll explore how these muscles impact our daily lives, from continence and sexual function to core stability and overall well-being.

What You Will Learn:

  • Pelvic Floor Anatomy: Discover the location, structure, and different muscle groups that make up the pelvic floor.
  • Functional Roles: Uncover how the pelvic floor muscles support the bladder, bowel, and pelvic organs (uterus and vagina in females). Learn how they contribute to urinary and fecal continence, sexual function, and childbirth.
  • Benefits of Strong Pelvic Floor: Explore the positive impact of strong pelvic floor muscles on core stability, posture, and preventing pelvic floor disorders like incontinence and prolapse.
  • Identifying and Isolating the Pelvic Floor: Learn techniques to feel and activate the pelvic floor muscles.
  • Pelvic Floor Exercises (Kegels): Understand the proper way to perform Kegel exercises and how to integrate them into a routine.
  • Common Pelvic Floor Issues: Gain insight into conditions associated with weak pelvic floor muscles and how to address them.

Who Should Attend:

This class is open to anyone who wants to learn more about pelvic floor health and how to take an active role in maintaining it. It is particularly beneficial for:

  • Individuals who experience incontinence (urine leakage) or constipation.
  • People interested in improving core strength and stability.
  • Women who are pregnant, postpartum, or experiencing changes due to menopause.
